Sestina: Working on Our Walls
That October after, I saw a man working on a wall, coating its outside with cement to postpone its death just a little longer, while around him, crowds of people walked by without a glance, and the wall turned a dark gray. Ruin and rage whispered through the hidden cracks, the gouges, the scrapes, the passersby, our blood. It’s been only a short while since terrorists took the blood of innocents, of New Yorkers from Park Place to Wall Street, only a short while since towering infernos cracked and rained down paper, cement, stone, metal, death. Those New Yorkers witnessed, faces somber, shocked, gray, as instead of more rubble falling from the fires, it was people. And I, safe at school—over 2,001 miles away—watched those people watch neighbors cartwheel down. But the city, the nation, hadn’t bled enough, so the burning titans tumbled, exploding clouds of gray through the streets covering the people, the buildings, the walls, the churches, the graveyards, and the cars, still

How to Submit Literature II (DA app + phone)
There are multiple ways to submit online; this is the method using a word processor of your choice (Notes or similar apps on your phone, Microsoft Word app/365 online, or Google Docs) and submitting via the DeviantArt app on your phone/device. Click on the links in the description for submitting on a desktop or laptop computer or via the internet with a web browser (I recommend this option/method over submitting it from your phone via your phone's web browser, which is why I labelled it method #2). How to Submit on DeviantArt's phone app Write your literature work on a word processing program of your choice either on your phone (such as Docs or Notes or similar) or on Google Docs online. Save your finished document. Find the DeviantArt app on Google Play or iPhone's app store. Install it, open it once it finishes installing, and log in (remember your login from online, especially your password). This will take you to the Home "page", showing all the latest deviations similar to what

Sunshine and Rain + October Fool's Day Preview
The moon is up
And I am too
Because I have a favor
To ask of you.
I am going to publish a "Sunshine and Rain" and "October Fool's Day" preview soon
But before I can, I need a Beta-Reader like the ocean needs the moon.
BTW That means a BR is badly needed. See below for the journal that gives the details.

How to Submit Literature on DA--Updated 08/2021
If you want to submit literature on DeviantArt, you have two choices:
(1) Submitting it directly on the dA website as text
(2) Submitting as a .pdf (I tried submitting with a Word doc and it didn't work like it should).
After these two tutorials, I've also created a tutorial how to use Sta.sh Storage feature to edit a work. You can find the link for it in the description (or just go to the next tutorial)
*Side Note for any deviant who's been here for years: DA's latest update prevents veteran deviants (long-time usesrs) from submitting text like we used to a few years ago; however, you can edit older deviations' text the old way by clickin

(Gr8, The G8 Can't See Me, Or Why It Doesn't Pay to Wake Up Early in Canada)
Season 1, Episode 38, as shown from a very different point of view
Matthew Williams, a.k.a. Canada, giggled as he walked down the hallway towards the conference room. The rest of the G8 nations hadn't arrived yet; it would be impossible unless they got up as early as he did. He wanted to be the first one there so that he could greet them as they entered the room. Surely, they would notice him if he did that.
Let's face it, he moaned internally. I've tried most of my life to get them all to notice me. It doesn't matter how loud I say my name t

Beachy Keen (USXfem!UK One-shot fanfic)
Rosa tugged on her bikini bottom one more time before stepping out of the changing tent. As the August sunshine warmed her bare belly, she immediately regretted letting Amelia convince her (1) to buy the blasted thing and (2) to wear it to the beach picnic they were having.
I don't have the figure for something like this, she silently moaned, glancing down at her B-cup chest and touching her waist. A figure-flattering one-piece would have been a better choice. She looked around for the reason she wanted the attention, the reason she picked red (his favorite colour) over the other styles and colours available, and spotted him.
She frowned an

"Did Alfred eat any of your snacks?" Amelia asked, pulling Arthur out of his memories.
Arthur looked at her. "Hmm? Sorry?"
She gestured toward the chocolate bar she'd put in the shopping trolley earlier. A grin started to creep onto his face when he noted that it had "magically" multiplied into 5 different brands. "Since I'm replacing the chocolate I borrowed from you this morning," she said, "I thought we might as well get your snacks replaced too." She smiled as she looked at the bars. "I still think English chocolate tastes better than ours."
As if by magic, the girl from all those years ago sto
I am more of a writer than an artist (but I'll still do my best with my art--I finally took down my hand-drawn profile pic b/c I know it wasn't pretty; this is just a digitally manipulated photo). When I was younger, I used to make up stories to match the pictures in the books I had. My grandmother told my mom to encourage my writing in every way she could. She did. I hope it shows in my writing.
She also trained me in art (she's a professional artist) and I hope some of what she taught me actually helps me with my drawings. I'll keep practicing and working hard so that someday I can be as good as some of the Deviants here.
My current occupation is adjunct professor; I'm currently working towards grad school so I can become a full-time professor...either that or a librarian. I just want to be surrounded by good books. What I'd really like to do for a living, though, is write...and I'm working on that one too.
